Associating a Candidate to a Committee

 

1. Perform the steps for Assigning a Schedule to a Committee.

 

The Committee Registration page is displayed.

 

2. Click the associate committee to candidate button.

 

The Candidate Committee - Candidate Association page is displayed.

 

Note: Required fields are indicated by an asterisk * to the right of the label and must be completed.

 

1. In the Candidate Search section, perform the following:

To...	Then...
Search by the Candidate's last name...	Type at least one character of the Candidate's last name in the committee/last name field.
Search by the Candidate's first name...	Type at least one character of the Candidate's first name in the first name field.

 

• 2. To limit the search to a specific political party, select the party from the party drop-down list box.

 

• 3. Click the search button.

 

If...	Then...
One or more records match the search criteria...	The search results are displayed in the Select Matching Candidate section. If the search results exceed the page's display limit, you can click a page number at the bottom of the grid to view additional results.
If no records match the specified search criteria...	The system displays an error message.   Click the clear button to clear the search criteria and perform another search.

 

2. In the Select Matching Candidate section, select the check box in the Select column of the data grid for the Candidate you want to associate to the Committee. If you don't want the Candidate associated to the Committee, clear the check box.

 

3. Click the save button to save the information and close the Candidate Committee - Candidate Association page. To close the page without saving the information, click the cancel button.

 

If an affidavit and a committee registration are received on the same day, and the candidate affidavit was entered first and then the committee, the reports scheduled for the candidate are deleted.
