You can access the Contribution/Donation Entry page to add a contribution/donation and the Contribution/Donation Update page to modify a contribution/donation. No contribution/donation information is viewable by the public or another Candidate or Committee until a report is filed. For information regarding validating contributions, refer to Contribution Validation.
To access the Contribution/Donation Entry/Update page:
Click the contributions/Donations tab.
The Contribution/Donation Administration page is displayed.
Perform one of the following:
To add a contribution/donation:

In the Contribution/Donation section, perform the following:
Select the type of contribution/donation from the contribution/donation type drop-down list box.
Select how the contribution/donation was received from the receipt type drop-down list box.
If the actual aggregate dollar amount differs from the amount calculated and displayed by the system, type the correct aggregate dollar amount in the aggregate amount field. Discrepancies in the aggregate amount can occur because of amended records or if a contribution/donation from the same Contributor/Donor was previously entered as a non-itemized entry.
If desired, type a reference number for your use in the account/reference number field (e.g., account number, check number).
Type an explanation of the contribution in the explanation field, if applicable.
For EDI filers, type an external reference ID in the external reference id field.
If you want the system to retain the contribution/donation information for the next contribution/donation entry, select the lock contribution/donation info check box. If you don't want the system to retain the contribution/donation information for the next contribution/donation entry, clear the lock contribution/donation info check box.
If the Contributor/Donor Information section is displayed, perform the following to assign a Contributor/Donor to the contribution/donation:
Select the type of Contributor/Donor from the contributor/donor type drop-down.

If you selected LLC as the Contributor type, perform the following to enter individual Contributors and their contribution amounts:
The LLC Member Information section is displayed.

If the Contributor/Donor Information section is displayed and you want to add or select a Contributor/Donor, perform the following:
Select the add or select a different contributor/donor for this contribution/donation radio button.
Click the proceed with contributor/donor change link.
The Contributor/Donor demographic fields are displayed in add/search mode.

Complete the fields in the Contributor Information section and click the save member button.

Continue adding Contributors/Donors and/or modifying individual contributions/donations as necessary.
If the Contributor/Donor Information section is displayed and you want to update Contributor/Donor information, perform the following:
Select the update the information about this contributor/donor radio button.
Click the proceed with contributor/donor change link.
The Contributor/Donor demographic fields are displayed in edit mode.
Modify the information in the Contributor/Donor Information section as necessary.
