You can access the PIN Change page to change the PIN you use to log in to the system and/or change your security question.
You are required to change your PIN the first time you log in after your User account is set up or after a PIN reset by your System Administrator. You are also required to change your PIN every 180 days, with a seven-day grace period for making the change. When you attempt to log in under these circumstances, the system displays the PIN Change page to prompt you to change your PIN. If you do not change your PIN within the required time frame, the system locks your User account and you must contact your System Administrator to regain access.
The system prompts you to change your PIN:
The first time you log in after your User account is set up.
Every 180 days, with a seven-day grace period for making the change.
PINs must meet the following requirements:
Minimum of six characters.
Cannot repeat characters more than three times consecutively.
Cannot be the same as the User name.
Cannot be in current PIN history. The system retains your last four PINs in PIN history. Since you are required to change your PIN every 180 days, you'll have to wait about eight months before you can reuse a PIN.
Contains a mix of characters from three (3) of the following areas:
English uppercase alpha characters (A-Z).
English lowercase alpha characters (a-z).
Numeric digits (0-9).
Non-alphabetic characters (e.g., !, $, #, %).
An example of a valid PIN is abcDef9. Do NOT use this example as your PIN.
The system prompts you to establish a security question and answer the first time you log in after your User account is set up. The system uses your security question and answer to verify your identity if you forget your Password and you attempt to retrieve it or your User account is locked and you request it be unlocked.
The system locks your user account if:
You fail to successfully log in after ten consecutive attempts.
You fail to change your PIN within seven days of being prompted by the system.
If you attempt to log in while your user account is locked, the system displays an error message. You will be required to enter your PIN and the email address associated to your user account. If the information is correct, you will be required to answer the security question associated to your user account. If your response matches the answer associated to your user account, the system assigns you a temporary PIN and sends you an email message containing a link to log in using the temporary PIN. You must log in with the temporary PIN within seven days of receipt and then change it or the PIN will expire and you will have to obtain a new temporary PIN.
