Searching for a Penalty

You can access the Penalty Search page to search for and view a penalty, including waiver requests and decisions.

Tasks

Perform one of the following:

Access the page from the menu bar...

Click the search tab in the menu bar.

The Search the Campaign Finance Database page is displayed.

Click the penalty search link.

The Penalty Search page is displayed.

Access the page from the left navigation menu...

Click the + to the left of the Search section in the left navigation menu.

The Search section is expanded.

Click the penalty search link.

The Penalty Search page is displayed.

Enter search criteria into one or more fields.

Click the search button.

A single record matches the search criteria...

The Penalty Detail page is displayed for that record.

When finished viewing the information, click the return button.

More than one record matches the search criteria...

The search results are displayed in the Search Results data grid.

Export the search results to a CSV file...	Click the CSV icon . The File Download dialog box is displayed. Click the save button. The Save As dialog box is displayed. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the file. Click the save button. The search results are exported to a CSV file and saved to the location you specified. The export is limited to 20,000 records. The Download Complete dialog box is displayed. Click the close button to close the dialog box.
Export the search results to an Excel spreadsheet...	Click the Excel icon . The File Download dialog box is displayed. Click the save button. The Save As dialog box is displayed. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the file. Click the save button. The search results are exported to an Excel file and saved to the location you specified. The export is limited to 20,000 records. The Download Complete dialog box is displayed. Click the close button to close the dialog box.
Export the search results to a PDF file...	Click the PDF icon . The File Download dialog box is displayed. Click the save button. The Save As dialog box is displayed. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the file. Click the save button. The search results are exported to a PDF file and saved to the location you specified. The export is limited to 20,000 records. The Download Complete dialog box is displayed. Click the close button to close the dialog box.
Print the search results...	Click the Print icon . The output is displayed on your screen and the Print dialog box is displayed. Adjust the settings as necessary and click the print button. The search results are sent to the specified printer and the Print dialog box is closed. The output is limited to 1,000 records. Click the back link to return to the Candidate Search page.
View a penalty...	Click the link in the Type column of the data grid for the penalty you want to view. The Penalty Detail page is displayed for the selected record. When finished viewing the information, click the return button.
View the associated waiver...	Click the yes link in the data grid for the waiver you want to view. The Waiver Detail page is displayed. When finished viewing the information, click the return button.
Change the search criteria...	Click the change criteria button.

No records match the specified search criteria...

The system displays an error message.

Click the reset button to clear the search criteria and perform another search.
