You must provide the system with the header, footer, and signature line content in order for those areas of correspondence to be populated. If you don't provide the information, those areas will be blank in the correspondence. To set up the content, perform the steps for Maintaining a Jurisdiction Code.
Below is an example of a mailed correspondence. The red areas are those that are populated with content you provide in the Jurisdiction Code table as discussed above.
The following types of correspondence must be sent via certified mail:
CPF-18 – Notice of Ability to Withdraw Voluntary Acceptance of Campaign Spending Limits
CPF-25 – Notice of Imposition of Fine
CPF-28 - Determination of Request for Waiver of Imposed Penalty (imposed penalty)
You must enter a certified mail number to be included in the correspondence.
For correspondence items that are sent via email only, you won't have the option to modify the content prior to sending. The correspondence is sent and an image of the correspondence is saved for your reference.
For correspondence that is printed to be mailed, you can manually add content to the correspondence prior to generating it. You have two options:
Print and auto-image the correspondence – The correspondence is produced in Word and automatically emailed and imaged.
Print and manually image the correspondence – The correspondence is produced in Word for additional editing. You are responsible for scanning the final document and attaching it to the Committee or Candidate. In addition, you are responsible for pasting the content into an email message and sending the email. When you select this option, an event is created.
