PIN Creation Rules

PINs must meet the following requirements:

An example of a valid PIN is abcDef9. Do NOT use this example as your PIN.

Security

The system prompts you to establish a security question and answer the first time you log in after your User account is set up. The system uses your security question and answer to verify your identity if you forget your PIN and you attempt to retrieve it or your User account is locked and you request it be unlocked.

Account Locks

The system locks your user account if:

If you attempt to log in while your user account is locked, the system displays an error message. You will be required to enter your PIN and the email address associated to your user account. If the information is correct, you will be required to answer the security question associated to your user account. If your response matches the answer associated to your user account, the system assigns you a temporary PIN and sends you an email message containing a link to log in using the temporary PIN. You must log in with the temporary PIN within seven days of receipt and then change it or the PIN will expire and you will have to obtain a new temporary PIN.
