Viewing Imported File History

You can access the Imported File History page to view a list of imported files and if necessary, remove an imported file and the updates made to the system if the updates have not yet been included on a filed report. Imported files are submitted by a registered Candidate or Committee and contain contribution, expenditure, loan, loan payment, contribution return, and/or expenditure return records.

Tasks

Perform the steps for Searching for a Candidate or Committee.

The Candidate/Committee Search Results page is displayed.

Click the link in the Candidate/Committee Name column of the data grid for the Candidate or Committee you want to view.

The Candidate/Committee Overview page is displayed.

Click the administration tab.

The Candidate/Committee Administration page is displayed.

In the Import Data File section, click the imported file history button.

The Imported File History page is displayed.

Note: Required fields are indicated by an asterisk * to the right of the label and must be completed.

Perform the following:

To...	Then...
Reverse changes made to the system by an imported file...	Click the reverse link in the data grid for the imported file you want to reverse. The system performs the following: Finds all contributions and expenditures (including loans and loan payments) that were imported by the selected import file. For each record, the system: Skips items that have already been included on a filed report. Skips items with associated items that are NOT part of the same import file. (Examples of possible associated items are loans and loan payments, contributions and returned contributions, contributions and NSF records, expenditures and returned expenditures.) Deletes items that pass the above criteria. Calculates the number of items deleted and the number of items skipped. Displays a confirmation message and the number of items deleted and the number of items skipped. When finished viewing the information, click the return button.
Import a new file...	Click the import new file button. The Import File page is displayed. Perform the steps for Importing a File.
Return to the Candidate/Committee Overview page...	Click the return button.
